I've worked with Kristian twice now, the first time being at the BBC and the second time where he was initially brought in as a Technical Lead, then becoming Head of Software Engineering at Partful owing to his skill and experience.

Kristian played a vital role in both rapidly upskilling staff and standardising practices in the department, driving essential software engineering principles to impact code quality, reduce technical debt, and ensure solutions were scalable and maintainable. Elsewhere he was heavily involved in transforming the recruitment process for software engineers, creating a transparent, standard progression plan, and interviewing candidates at all levels, eventually covering my role upon my departure.

Kristian's involvement was pivotal to the success of the department and I look forward to working with him again on another engagement, where we can continue to deliver against broader commercial objectives with well-engineered software solutions.

I had the opportunity to work closely with Kristian during his time as VP of Engineering. What stood out most was his genuine passion for the work and his strong connection to the product. He cared deeply about the people he worked with and was always willing to invest his time and energy to help the team succeed.

With a real appetite for learning, he was always looking to develop new skills and take on fresh challenges. He often went above and beyond to get things done, and his positive, collaborative nature made him a pleasure to work with.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, he stepped up during a very dynamic period for Partful and put all his effort into making things better for the team. I believe he has a lot of potential and look forward to seeing him go from strength to strength.

Kristian and I joined Partful around the same time, and I first worked with him in his role as Tech Lead for one of the engineering teams. In those early months, I saw him lead his team of developers effectively, with a clear sense of ownership and attention to delivery.

As the company evolved, Kristian took on increasing levels of responsibility — initially supporting the search for a new CTO, and then stepping into an interim CTO role during a time of transition. It was a significant step up, and he approached it with drive and commitment, and a determination to manage the additional pressure and complexity.

When a fractional CTO joined the business, Kristian moved into a VP of Engineering role and continued to focus on driving delivery and team alignment. These were periods of rapid change across both Product and Engineering, and Kristian’s focus on structure, reporting, and stakeholder visibility remained consistent throughout.

The kind of manager that makes you want to show up for work in the morning and honestly has your best interests at heart. He wants you to succeed both personally and as a team and enables you to do so. A pleasure to work both with and for and would be lucky to do so again.
